CBB26 Cagles Map Turtle (Graptemys caglei)

CBB26 Cagles Map Turtle (Graptemys caglei)

One of nicest of the Graptemys with brighter striping and lighted shell color/patterns. The colors really pop. Cagles Maps come from south- central Texas. They inhabit slow to moderate moving rivers and streams with sandy bottoms. They are fairly cold tolerant provided appropriate depth to brumate. They do best with good flow or current in clean water. A setup can be almost entirely aquatic but an area for consistent basking is a must. Good filtration is always important along with regular water changes and a varied diet. In the wild these turtles eat freshwater sponge, various mollusks and aquatic insects though they will graze occasionally on algae as well. Adult males average about 3-5". Adult females on the other hand can reach almost 9" in size.

These captive-bred/born hatchlings are eating well on frozen blood worms, earthworms, mealworms, canned river shrimp, frozen beef heart and aquatic turtle pellets. They are in solid health and ready to go. Temperature Sex Incubated(TSI) sexes are available.
