CBB26 Reeves Turtles (M. reevesii)

Reeves Turtles are great little turtles that don't turn into giants over time. Many turtle keepers consider them to be very good turtles for beginners. They become quite personable and are easy to keep. They have beautiful shells with accented geometric scutes that become more prominent as they age. Reeves Turtles come from central and eastern China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan. They are fairly cold tolerant provided appropriate depth to brumate. Their natural habitat includes lakes and ponds along with slow moving waters and streams with generally sandy to muddy bottoms. A setup can be almost entirely aquatic but an area for consistent basking is a must. Good filtration is always important along with regular water changes and a varied diet. These turtles are mostly carnivores while young but do eat some vegetable matter and plants as they age. Adults males average about 5-6" while adult females can get as large as 9".

These captive-bred/born hatchlings are eating well on frozen blood worms, earthworms, mealworms, canned river shrimp, frozen beef heart and aquatic turtle pellets. They are in solid health and ready to go. Temperature Sex Incubated(TSI) sexes are available.
