CBB26 Blandings Turtle (Emys blandingii)

Blandings Turtles are amongst the most engaging and active of the turtle species. They are a favorite species to work with here at Turtle Freak. They are inquisitive and are not shy in almost all cases. Blandings Turtles come from southern Canada all around the Great Lakes and the Midwestern United States. Their habitat generally includes lakes, ponds, streams and slow moving waters with sandy or muddy bottoms. They are very cold tolerant provided appropriate depth to brumate. They do best in a mostly aquatic environment with some area of land to explore. A setup offering 2/3 area of water with 1/3 area of land should work well along with an area providing a good basking site. Good filtration is a must with regular water changes and a varied diet. These turtles are almost exclusively carnivores. Adults average about 10" with some variation.

These captive-bred/born hatchlings are eating well on frozen blood worms, earthworms, mealworms, canned river shrimp, frozen beef heart and aquatic turtle pellets. They are in solid health and ready to go. Temperature Sex Incubated(TSI) sexes are available.
