CBB26 Razorback Musk Turtle (S. carinatus)

These great little musk turtles are incredibly popular with so many turtle keepers. They do not turn into giants and are very hardy and easy to care for. They have really beautiful shells that get more attractive as they grow . They have great personalities and get very tame quickly. Razorback Musk Turtles are found in south-central part of the United States in Louisiana, eastern Texas, southeastern Oklahoma, southern Arkansas, southern Mississippi and a small part of southwestern Alabama. They are quite cold tolerant provided appropriate depth to brumate. They live in slow moving rivers and streams, creeks, lakes and swampy areas with sandy or muddy bottoms. Razorback Musk Turtles are highly aquatic. A setup can be almost entirely aquatic but an area for consistent basking is a must. Good filtration is always important along with regular water changes and a varied diet. These turtles are almost exclusively carnivores. Adults average about 5-6" with some variation.

These captive-bred/born hatchlings are eating well on frozen blood worms, earthworms, mealworms, canned river shrimp, frozen beef heart and aquatic turtle pellets. They are in solid health and ready to go. Temperature Sex Incubated(TSI) sexes are available.
