CBB26 North American Wood Turtles (G. insculpta)

North American Wood Turtles are truly exceptional turtles. They are incredibly intelligent. They are always engaging and learning and are an amazing turtle to keep. North American Wood Turtles come from the northeastern and midwestern portion of North America. They inhabit slow moving waters such as streams or small rivers with sand to gravel bottoms along with damp forests and meadows. They are very cold tolerant provided appropriate depth to brumate. They are aquatic for most of the year but also need some land area to wander about on. A set up should include half water and half land area with a very good site to bask. Good filtration is a must with regular water changes and a varied diet. This particular bloodline is of the red variant with general skin color turning a red color quickly. Adult size is generally around 10".

These captive-bred/born hatchlings are eating well on frozen blood worms, earthworms, mealworms, canned river shrimp, frozen beef heart and aquatic turtle pellets. They are in solid health and ready to go.
